The PNG Australia Alumni Association held its first ever Leadership Dialogue workshop on “Executing Strategy” with senior officials from both the public and private sector in Port Moresby earlier this week.
Ivan Choi, Principal and Innovation Practice Lead from the Palladium Group of Companies facilitated the workshop providing valuable insight into global best practices in planning and executing strategy.
Dr. Matainaho, President of the PNGAAA is excited about the potential of the Leadership Dialogue. With the support of the Australian Government, the PNGAAA is proud to be creating a forum where leaders can come together to exchange ideas and knowledge around leading change within their organisations.
“It was an inspiring workshop that reminds us that we need to build the capacity of leaders at every level in order to effectively contribute to the development of Papua New Guinea” said Dr. Matainaho.
“In Papua New Guinea, as leaders we should be able to apply balanced score card techniques and strategic frameworks to help the country navigate through the challenges we are facing today.”
Australian Alumni at the workshop included Agnes Friday, Deputy Secretary for Public Sector Reform (DPM), Lesielli Taviri Country Manager (Origin Energy PNG), Dr. Kavanamur A/Secretary (DHERST), Alexander Rheeney Editor in Chief (Post Courier) and Christine Boude, Performance Monitoring & Coordination Division (DPLGA).
The PNGAAA was formed in 2006 to provide Papua New Guineans who have studied in Australia with a mechanism to contribute to development in PNG and support their ongoing development as leaders. PNGAAA has Chapters in Madang, Goroka, Kokopo, Lae, Lorengau and Enga.
